Sad news, for now

I won't be updating here any more. I am having a "real" website built, so in the meantime, I will be doing all blogging at my personal site (click there and it'll take you to it!).

Brooke & Elijah's Reception

A few posts ago I shared pics from Brooke & Elijah's wedding. I got to take pictures at their reception in California last weekend. It was a lovely party! Here are a few of my favorites.

Catching up

Wow, I am so behind on this blog .. its embarrassing. Life gets away from me as I do the mom/wife thing and try to keep everyone fed and our house looking halfway decent. Not to mention learning all the amazing features of the new Nikon my hubby gave me for our anniversary last month!

I've done some great shoots with great people and have more lined up so that's exciting. I'm also having a 'real' website built and can't wait to get that up & running, and a new business name to announce as well. But more on that later! ;)

Here are some of my favorite shots from two recent shoots, starting with Jerome & Leisa's maternity shoot. They've since had their baby who I have yet to meet but I hear he is darling - how could he not be? Look at the parents!

And here are some shots from little Greysen's shoot - what a sweet guy!

I'll leave you with some delicious coconut cupcakes my niece & I made recently - they tasted even better than they looked!

Busy days ahead! I am meeting with a potential client tomorrow; doing a maternity shoot on Friday; then on Saturday we leave for a 9-day vacation (without the kids!!), ending with taking pictures at a reception in California on the 27th, so look for new pics to be up after the first of April.

Brooke + Elijah

My beautiful friends asked me to take pictures at their super-secret courthouse wedding - I felt so special! It was such a wonderful day; I couldn't have asked for a better "first time" experience. Everyone was so happy and relaxed, and I think we all had a really good time. Brooke's daughter Ava was the perfect little subject (not into having her picture taken at ALL at first, and then totally warmed up later on) and I had so much fun snapping shots of her. Here are some of my favorites from the day:

Its time.

I'm gonna do it! Finally, finally, after much self-doubt & discouragement (and perhaps a tiny bit of laziness), I have decided to GO FOR IT and start marketing myself. I just ordered business cards and tomorrow will hopefully be buying the software I've wanted in order to DO THIS THING! As you will see from my last entry, this is an idea I've been kicking around for at least two years. I have been into photography for about 13 years now, but finally have the time, energy, and resources to do something about it. I cannot wait to push myself and have a creative outlet in my life as a stay at home mom, but most importantly I want to give people 'that perfect shot' of themselves or their child that they'll just HAVE to frame or mail to friends, or simply treasure forever.
